Bruises, bloodwork and bravery

About a week ago we noticed a bruise on Lia's tummy, and then her shoulder and then her back.  These weren't just any bruises, but large dark ones that looked like they really hurt.  She had been to the park to play but never seemed to get hurt that anyone was aware of.  She didn't complain and seemed to be as happy as ever.  Not being one to rush to the dr. at the sight of a bruise, I just watched them but didn't do anything about it.  Finally, today I took her to the dr. to have bloodwork done just to make sure it wasn't anything of concern.  She is certainly one brave little girl!  I do NOT like needles and the sight of them causes me to get a little woozy, but she just plops that little arm out and watches as they take her blood and never flinches.  You should have seen the excitement on her face when she got not ONE, but FOUR Hannah Montana sticker's!  You would have thought someone gave her a million dollars!  After bloodwork we went to the dr. and got the results of her platelet counts and clotting and whatever else they tested.  Everything looked great and she is a healthy little bundle of energy.  So, tonight we are rejoicing in HIS complete healing yet again!

Did you see it?

Apparently my sweet little Lia decided it had been too long since I had blogged!  I gave her my cell phone to play with as we were driving home tonight and she somehow figured out how to send her message to my blog.  I deleted it since it was sent as a photo somehow.  She seems to think that at 5 yrs old she should have her own cell phone or ipod.  Sorry, sister, but that won't be happening for a long time.  I am getting the same message from an darling 11 yr old and she doesn't have one yet either.  Amazingly, I think life will go on without her having a cellphone.  The boys didn't get theirs until they started driving, so we will see how long I can hold out this time.

I had the awesome opportunity to share my testimony at my ladies luncheon today.  What a joy it is to have the chance to share how God has been working in our lives the past few years.  My prayer lately has been that God would use the same mouth that gets me in trouble quite often to honor and glorify Him.  The theme today was "Things Remembered," and as I prepared I certainly had lots of memories to recall.  I thank my heavenly Father for His faithfulness in my life and for giving me the chance to share that with others.
