Lia is home

Welcome to our newest citizen of The United States of American.

We are so excited to be home and introduce Lia to her forever family. I am begging for sleep right now at 12:45 am, but she is not! I have so much to update in the days to come but for now a picture or two and a huge THANK YOU to so many of you that have followed us and prayed for our journey. From today's events this journey is far from over, but I am happy to continue it in my own home with most of the rest of our family. We quickly discovered that Lia HATES a car seat and has an EXTREME fear of our animals, of which we have many. One thing we discovered though is that she LOVES her new brothers and family and they LOVE her and that LOVE will conquer all!

The joy of the Lord is my strength!

This was during nap time today.
And this one just happened at 1:30 am -
Thanks Big Brother, now I can also get some rest.

Wonder why she isn't sleepy now? This was lunch today.

Meeting Brandon for the first time today.
Meeting Nathan for the first time.

Can't wait until she gets to meet brother number three in a few weeks.

I'm so happy to hear that you are home safely! Get lots of rest. That jet lag is the worst! It takes me a good two weeks to get over it. Ugh. Afternoon naps are a must!

Hey there, it's Lorraine from All Are Precious In His Sight! So good to hear from you, and CONGRATS on your precious girl! What are her heart conditions and where is her cardiologist? What part of Texas do you live in? I'll be keeping you all in my prayers. Please keep me posted on everything. Oh, all of our adopted kids have been PETRIFIED of our many pets (on our ranch...dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats) for about 3 weeks, then they started to trust the animals more b/c they watched us trust the animals. Kiefer (from Haiti) would get a broom and chase the animals as if he were a warrior running to joust the animals with a sword!!! Even our 11 year-old adoptee from Colombia was petrified of the animals, and we could reason with her since she was older. It's just an orphanage thing since they've never had the privilege of pets. Oh, and the same issue with car seats...other countries don't require car seats (and most kids in orphanages have never even gotten to go outside the orphanage, much less ride in a vehicle), so being strapped into a car seat is like torture...seriously. They've never been confined (except to a crib, but they're not strapped into that!), so not having free movement is hard to get used to. Kiefer still hates his car seat after being home for a little over 2 months now. UGH! Looking forward to staying in touch...two Texas heart mommas! :-)
